It's hard to talk about my bike when I am abroad without it. Japan is easily the only country I would ride a motorbike without a second thought. People are polite and roads are clean. I don't think I ever heard a single honk on the road.
Scooters are definitely mainstream in the areas of Tokyo and Yokohama, and small cc naked are the runner up. On the country side like Hokkaido, duals are far more popular than tourers. I hardly see any GSXers or CBR, and even more rarely to spot a bimmer or caddie. Recently a new bike caught my eyes. It's the Honda DN-01. It's automatic, shaft-drive cruiser, much like a crossover, and the lines loook amazing! Though quite heavy (595lbs+), could be great for commute. Pictures are widely available so I am not gonna post them here. But I did include a short commercial. White is always my favourite colour. 2nd bike, hmm... or third...
