Moving back to MTV/US was difficult. I loved living in JP, except I didn't have a bike over there. Now that the wet winter is somewhat behind, I resumed my bike commute schedule. Surprisingly, it felt as if I left off yesterday (was 3 months). There are still some hairy moments, but we all learn something every time we ride, don't we? Some drivers tiptoe around bikes and give us a lot of room. And there are some don't give a monkey. A few weeks ago, for instance, a lady with an Escape decided to get around my blocking position. I was on the right lane positioning myself, as usual, on the left side near the dotted white lines. This so called blocking position is for becoming more visible to other drivers and avoiding being squeezed in. She behind me however decided to squeeze in from my right side, next to the curb. It turned out she was gonna make a right turn at the junction 400ft down the road. The infamous quote I learned, "Ride like all drivers are out to kill you. (no matter how pretty they might be)"
